    1 hour and 15 minutes!
That's how long it took me to dig out; the front door, the car and the back door.

It's actually pretty good time considering we got roughly 40CMs of snow in the past 24 hour. (40CM=16inches) It usually takes about that time to get through the car when I'm with Katie. However this time I was lucky because wind blew in a way that the right side of the car was pretty much clear and the front of the car was fine because I was parked right by a parking lot's entrance.

I'll take pictures later and let you appreciate the sight of Montreal under the snow!

I know entries are rare and sparse but... this is gold.
I have to share that, because it's... just that great. So Virgin has this super cool program which is basically a "go green" thing. But, what does the logo look like?

    Helo everybody!
Just a quick update on Katie and I!

I will cross-post this on Katie's LJ so that I can reach as many people as possible.
I WAS going to cross post this on Katie's LJ but somehow I forgot her password. So that part will wait 'til Thursday evening. Feel free to cross reference to this post in your LJ so that the news spreading part can be done! :)

We've established ourselves in Montreal with ease this past Tuesday. However we will not have internet access at our appartment until around the 22nd. Right now I am at my parent's, because I have given my current employer a sort of 10 day leave notice and traveling from the appartment would be very long. So Katie is staying all alone with no internet in the appartment from tonight 'til Friday early evening. She has my mom's cellphone, so don't worry guys!

Other than that, everything is going pretty well. The boxes are almost all emptied, and the furniture is pretty much placed as we want it. Pictures will be coming very soon in a LJ near you!

If you want to get the address, please send an email to vhmarriage AT gmail.com and we will reply within a couple of days.

Thanks for the support guys, and hopefully Katie will be able to post things in details in a few days.

What American accent do you have?
    Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

    Northeastern.
You're probably from somewhere near New York City, possibly north Jersey, or Connecticut or Rhode Island. If you are from New York City you may be one of the types who people never believe when you say you're from New York.

Northern. Whether you have the world famous Inland North accent of the Great Lakes area, or the radio-friendly sound of upstate NY and western New England, your accent is what used to set the standard for American English pronunciation (not much anymore now that the Inland North sounds like it does).

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

    On a roll!
So last night I went out with friends to a bar that is owned by one of our good friend from high school/college. It was the "Metal Tuesdays" and it was a blast. They have TVs and were playing Brain Dead and afterwards it was Apocalypse Now. :D

$15 for a "bucket" of Moosehead which is 6 beers in a bucket with ice. And then the traditional poutine was had. I came back home at about 4:15AM. And wtf is up with the weather? We're in March and the thermometer hit -25C last night... it was at about -40C with the wind factor. They were forecasting a warm week with possibly some rain... that's not even CLOSE!

    Anyways!

    Been a while, as usual!
I rarely update my LJ, but I figured today I had a very good reason to do so.

Today, March 6th 2007, marks Katie and I's third anniversary. It's been three years now since we meet in person in Toronto. Amazing, eh? :)

    Just thought I'd share! :D

    Oh yeah, so last week...
Was about to forget to make an entry about it! Last Wednesday I went with two friends (Joce and Mike!) to the Gigantour 2006 show.

Effing-a-lific. Seriously! There was three bands I had been dying to see live, two that I had been following closely for years and one that I discovered only a few years ago and knew them before they became bigger. Lamb of God being the latter... Arch Enemy and MEGADETH being the first two. And then there was one of my favorite band of all time, Opeth.

The show was a gigantic blast... that must be why it's called the Gigantour!

    Drag racing ftw!
Today was fun, lots of fun. The whole mechanic department went out to the Drag race track which is about 10 minutes away from where I live.

I beat a Toyota Tercel, a Honda Civic and a Jetta Turbo Diesel~

Keep in mind I have a Geo Metro, 4 cylinders 1.3L! Okay, the Tercel was a fair match and I beat it mainly because the engine is starting to fade away. I initially beat the Civic because he started in 2nd gear... on the second race he beat me by like .2 second. And well the Jetta... it's Diesel... so yeah. :p My best time was 18.845 second which isn't too shabby I think.

I also raced a Mustang, a Celica GTS and a Cavalier. Those all beat me, but between all my races only the Mustang had a better reaction time than I. What's the reaction time? The time between the light goes green and when you come out of the box. RAWR!

    You've been... THUNDERSTRUCK!
Well okay, I didn't. Nor did anyone I know. But obviously a few power lines were thunderstruck last night!

If I remember correctly, I told Katie I'd probably not have power past 10:15PM which was a few minutes after she had left work... welp, I was right. Around that time power went out completely. I waited about 2 minutes and then shut down my computer (as I have an Uninterruptible Power Supply (USP)) and headed upstairs with my dog. She actually didn't want to come upstairs. Eh, fine.

So as I walk up the basement stairs I start hearing heavy wind, rain and storming. I could probably walk every 2 seconds for a second due to how intense the lightning was. I headed upstairs to see if either of my parents were awake... heck I knew my mom still was anyways. So we looked at it, not directly cause it's bad for you at this intensity, and then rapidly I heard my dog whine from downstairs. So I rushed down and looked at her through the stairs. I summoned her to come up and we both headed in the living room. She was practically panting... evidently due to the heavy lightning and storm noise/light activity. After a few minutes I decided to go near the fridge, as it was the place that had the least window access so she wouldn't be as freaked out. We both were laying down one next to the other... I'll have to upload pics my mom took hehe. Anyways after a good 15 minutes of intense storm things went calmer. There still was distant lightning show though, and you could see it reflect through the house. My dog still wasn't calmed down, so I stayed there with her from about 10:20 to 11:15PM. At that point she stood up and walked around a bit... I figured it meant she was fine since her breathing had been normal for a dozen of minutes or so anyways. I then went upstairs, washed my hands and brushed my teeth and headed to bed.

I think I woke up around 4AM, there still was another storm going on right above us. My dog was sleeping soundly though, so she didn't quite get stressed by this one. So I went to sleep right back. Power went back at about 6:20AM I believe... right in time for work and stuff! :p

Have a good one, and remember... effin' high humidity = strong storms!
